First, we choose a blank. The blank is "the rod" portion, and the foundation for all of the components. Blanks come in all  sizes, powers and actions for all different fishing applications. They even come in all colors!

My preferred blanks are crafted by RodGeeks. However, I also build on other blanks, whether it's to meet your budget  just your personal preference.
